Artist Collective Auchentoshan 13 Years 2007

Out of stock

When we discovered this distilled version for the first time in 2007, an experience arose, its smoothness already reflecting the exquisite refining in sherry barrels, which suits this emblematic single malt from the Tierras Bajas region like a glove.

Better still, its highly nuanced and wonderfully fruity flavor and aroma palette is enriched with gourmet and spicy notes, as well as gorgeous autumnal nuances that further enhance its deeply malty character. Over the years, not only has it become an exceptional distillate, but it has also deeply developed those different notes that it gave us in 2007 when we chose the barrel.

TASTING NOTE
Mahogany color. Nose: fine, smooth. Revealing a very pleasant rancid fruity (apricot, orange, tangerine), slightly burnt and waxy, the first nose evolves on intense notes of black fruits (blackberry, blueberry, blackcurrant, cherry). After aeration, malted barley occupies the background of the aromatic palette. Gradually, superb notes of caramel, pastry (Paris-Brest) and dried fruit (figs, dates) take center stage.

Mouth: both alive and balanced. The perfect synthesis of the aromatic palette, the attack on the palate is marked by notes of apricot, salted butter caramel, crushed malted barley and precious woods. On the mid palate, flavors of prunes, roasted walnuts, dark chocolate, licorice and dried leaves spread autumnal tones to the most beautiful effect. This is further accentuated by an aftertaste made up of new dried fruit (chestnut, chestnut).

Overall: long, smooth. Gourmet, the beginning of the final invites us to savor a delicious chocolate fondant. Then, sweet spices (cinnamon, ginger) ensure a slender, powdery transition towards a finish marked by woody notes of a beautiful essence (chestnut, oak, walnut). The retronasal evokes a walnut cake and the empty glass exudes aromas of apricot and bitter orange.
