    The Morrison family have been involved in the whiskey trade for 5 generations as merchants, brokers, blenders, bottlers and distillers, making them one of the oldest whiskey families in Scotland.

    Morrison Scotch Whiskey Distillers is owned and operated solely by Jamie and Brian Morrison.

    A rich and well-balanced single malt from Islay, Mac-Talla Strata has been matured for 15 years in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, creating a smoky maritime character with hints of rich fruit. Aromas of smoky barley, seashells, and sultanas fill the nose, complemented by notes of earthy peat, warm winter spices, ashen beach bonfires, and hints of sherry-soaked fruit throughout the palate.

    Bottled at 43% without cold filtering and with natural color (no colorant is added).

    With a percentage of almost 55% malt whiskey in its composition, it is a blend inspired by a recipe more than 100 years old.

    This family of products recreates whiskeys from the 18th century when blends were, precisely, expressions of the art of “making whiskey”.

    Great King Street Glasgow Blend 43% vol. by Compass Box is a Scottish blend with more body and more pronounced notes than Artist's Blend, uses Lowland grain whiskeys (33%) and Islay, Highland and Speyside single malts (66%) and is aged in ex-bourbon barrels and sherry. In Glasgow Blend, fruity notes appear from sherry casks wrapped in smoke.

    Style: Blended Scotch Whiskey.
    Aging: The whiskey has matured in first-use American oak barrels of ex-bourbon, sherry and new French oak barrels, it does not use artificial coloring or cold filtered.
    Nose: Intense and smoky, with the classic notes of sherry.
    Mouth: With presence, complex and smoky, notes of sherry and baked spices.
    Final: Medium persistence finish, the predominant smoky notes in the finish.
