Nearly two centuries ago, David Nicholson created the famous “43” bourbon recipe in the back room of his St. Louis grocery store. But little did he know that the recipe would be passed down from generation to generation and would be enjoyed by father and son alike.
While no longer produced in the backroom of a St. Louis grocery store, the legacy of David Nicholson lives on at Lux Row Distillers.
Located in Bardstown, Kentucky, the birthplace of bourbon, Lux Row began as a father’s dream and son’s commitment to providing visitors with a new distillery experience built on the timeless and true.
Turn down our tree-lined drive and you’ll be surrounded by 90 acres of pristine land, an 18th-century stone farmhouse, and a state-of-the-art bourbon distillery capable of producing 3 million gallons of spirits each year.
Head over to our bourbon bar and you’ll see David Nicholson sitting on the shelf – with sister spirits Rebel Bourbon, Ezra Brooks, Daviess County Bourbon, and Blood Oath – just waiting to be poured.
Just take a sip of any of these award-winning Kentucky bourbons, the 1843 Smooth and Wheat or the Reserve Spiced Rye, and you’ll understand why David Nicholson is called.
“a bourbon for the ages.”
