Established in 1846, Shinzato Distillery is the oldest existing distillery in Okinawa and has the distinction of being among the first licensed producers of 'awamori' in the ancient era of the Ryukyu Kingdom (1429-1879). Awamori is a traditional Okinawan spirit dating back more than 500 years; It was a prestigious drink enjoyed by the nobles of theRyukyu Kingdom, as well as a common tribute paid to the Qing dynasty and the Tokugawa shogunate.
The Shinzato Distillery operated at that time under the name “Kanekou”, from which the Kanekou Whiskey label originated.
Nose: Aromas of nectar, sweet cream, citrus, pineapple and other tropical f ruits.

Chichibu Red Wine Cask Limited Edition Japanese Whisky
399.95€Chichibu Red Wine Cask 2023 is a single malt whiskey aged in red wine barrels. Ichiro Akuto assembled 36 different barrels to create this masterpiece, whose whiskeys range in age from 6 to 13 years. The barrels come from vineyards located in France, the US, New Zealand and Japan, helping to create deep and complex flavors.
To make the most of its characteristics, this whiskey was not chill filtered and has a natural color. The barrels used mature the whiskey on its lees, which is largely part of the flavor profile of this bottling.
Nose: Chichibu Distillery used the best red wine barrels in the world to create this unique edition. The nose already announces the masterpiece that lies ahead, with a complex balance of honey, noble woods and fruits (loquat, forest berries, citrus).
Palate: The rich flavors derived from the red wine barrels begin with af ruta notes. The blueberry is supported by the freshness of the citrus fruits and the loquat. The notes of mint and licorice maintained the freshness, becoming more vegetal but also woody with elegant cedar. Bitter notes like cocoa offer good structure with a mild sweetness over a fine caramel.
Finish: The finish is long, with a pleasant bitterness with notes of clove and orange. The sweetness is maintained until the end with a milk chocolate sensation.
