Waterford Ballymorgan makes use of barley grown by Robert Milne on one of Ireland’s premier malting barley terroirs – the famous Clonroche Series in Co. Wexford, with its loamy, clay soils derived from slate and granite.

    Bottled at 50o without colouring, chill-filtration or any additives.

    This is the second release of the highly succesful Waterford Single Farm Origin Sheestown Edition. Proudly utilising 100% demonstrably Irish-grown barley from one farm, one terroir, at a time.

    This second batch f rom Sheestown’s first crop distillation was grown on undulated, well-drained lowland soil, predominantly derived from limestone, by Phil O’Brien, father of one of our distillery workers.

    It’s a high quality terroir that sits just outside the historic town of Kilkenny.

    Waterford Single Malt Whisky Ballybannon 1.1

    Waterford Ballybannon, is a supreme distillery breakthrough Waterford launches new Arcadian Series bottlings, this time two peaty single malt whiskeys crafted from two types of farmhouse single origin barley, both with distinctive terroirs and flavours.

    The crop from each farm was peated at different levels: Fenniscourt barley at 38 ppm and Ballybannon barley at 47 ppm.

    For a little over 15 years, Hunter was the barley variety for Irish malt, accounting for 75% of Irish malting barley purchases in 1966. A favorite of brewers and distillers for the distinctive, intense flavors it imparted . Waterford, over two years into our own project, Hunter barley was finally available on a scale we could distill: Head Brewer Neil commented on its flavor and quality just as his 1960s predecessors did. The original 50 grams of seeds eventually led to 50 barrels of whiskey for us.

    Collector's Edition.

    Waterford Distillery launches new Arcadian Series bottlings, this time two peaty single malt whiskeys made from two types of farmhouse single origin barley, both with distinctive terroirs and flavours.

    Fenniscourt was matured in a blend of 37% first-fill US oak; 19% US virgin oak; 20% Premium French Oak; and 24% Vin Doux Naturel.

    For a little over 15 years, Hunter was the barley variety for Irish malt, accounting for 75% of Irish malting barley purchases in 1966. A favorite of brewers and distillers for the distinctive, intense flavors it imparted .
